Y'know, I really am a fan of Rihanna's edgy, eclectic style. She has the stones to wear some truly bold pieces, and even pulls it off from time to time. However, sometimes, I just look at her and scratch my head: I see a white shirt with high-waisted cycling shorts under some inappropriately horizontally striped cover, with a dash of camel toe. I'm pretty nonplussed already, and I haven't even gotten to the shoes: Aside from the fact that shin-height boots with shorts make her look short, these boots are creating cankles where there are none while offending my fashion sense, my feet and my eyes. They create a similar effect to that of wearing legwarmers, a rather unattractive malady I like to call "The Clydesdale Effect". In other words Rihanna, you look like you have hooves. These look similar to a few Giuseppe Zanotti boots I've seen recently, where the top folds over to create that legwarmer-ish look, specifically the Zip Flap Low boot and the i98055. Like Ugg boots, I find this style takes away from the sexy shape of a feminine shoe. What do you think?
