I loved Gaga's red carpet dress - it was like Glinda the Good Witch of the North meets Marilyn Monroe in space. The shoes were nuts, but went great with the dress. I wasn't a fan of her green stage ensemble, in fact, I thought she looked shockingly like Marilyn Manson in his Mechanical Animals days. I guess the fact she can switch looks so effortlessly is a testament to her creativity and versatility, though. Loved the statue of liberty-esque headpiece - you had to feel sorry for the dude sitting behind her!
Last night watching the 2010 Grammy Awards, I was excited to feast my eyes on whatever wild ensemble Lady Gaga would appear in. I wasn't disappointed. Gaga looked like something out-of-this-world, wearing Giorgio Armani Privé head-to-toe. Her effervescent corseted dress is covered in Swarovski crystals, and comes complete with a spiky accessory and glittery chunky platforms, which are slightly reminiscent of McQueen's out-there shoe creations. I'm intrigued by the garter-like lines of glitter that trail up from the tops of the shoes.
In fact, the more I look at them, the harder it is for me to tell where her legs end, and the shoes begin. Leg lengthening magic!
Not only did she steal the spotlight on the red carpet; Gaga was nominated for five Grammys, and at the end of the night she walked away with two Grammys for Best Electronic/Dance Album and Best Dance Recording. The cheerful songstress told her Twitter fans: "We won big tonight little monsters,I am so proud to make music 4 you.I hope I continue to inspire u the way u inspire me.You're everything."
Giorgio Armani crafted a variety of pieces for Lady Gaga to wear during the ceremony and her live stage performance, including a teal green, bedazzled leotard with intense shoulders and another sparkly outfit, topped off with a Statue of Liberty-esque headpiece. "We hear Lady Gaga's music everywhere we go," Armani said. "It is like a soundtrack of our times. In addition to her formidable songwriting skills, she is a modern fashion phenomenon. I am delighted to be creating these outfits on such an important night for her, the Grammys, and I wish her the best of luck."
