How do I signup?

1. On ShoeHunting’s homepage, click the sign up button.
2. Pick a username you’d like other members to associate with you.
3. Then enter an email where you can be reached regarding ShoeHunting news and events, and create a password that is unique and you can remember.
4. You can click the checkbox below “Verify Password” if you’d like the computer to remember you the next time you login.
5. Click whether you are a woman or a man, and type the words you see in the CAPTCHA.

How do I bookmark shoes I find online?

You can bookmark shoes you find on any other website using two different methods: installing and using the bookmarklet or entering a URL on the “add a find” page.

Option 1: Installing & Using the Bookmarklet: By adding the bookmarklet to your browser toolbar, you can save finds to your account and share them with the community. Simply click the bookmarklet when you're on a web page you want to save as a "FIND" and follow the entry instructions.

1. Download and install the bookmarklet from ShoeHunting.
2. Surf the web as usual. When you find a pair of shoes you’d like to add to your ShoeHunting account, click the ShoeHunting Bookmarklet (whether it’s in your Links bar or under your Bookmarks drop down menu).
3. A popup will appear asking for you to enter details about the product. Depending on the site, some of the information in the Name and picture will already be filled in. Make sure you click the image you want uploaded representing the shoe you’ve found. If there’s no image, then click the checkbox under the image box
4. Fill in the other information: select a category to add the shoes to, add any comments you’d like to make about the shoes, add them to any collection you’ve created, and tag the shoes with keywords such as ankle boots, Nine West, boots, blue suede, etc.
5. You now have the choice to either submit your find and return to browsing, or you can submit it and go to ShoeHunting.com. Whichever option you choose, your find will now show up on the homepage of ShoeHunting and on your profile/in your collection.

Option 2: How to use the “add product” page on ShoeHunting If you’d rather just submit a find while you’re on ShoeHunting, visit the “add a find” page.

1. Enter the URL where the shoes are located on the Internet.
2. Follow steps 3-5 above.

How do I add a saved item to a collection?

Once you’ve bookmarked a pair of shoes, you can save them to a collection you create. Create a wish list to share with other users what you want. Create a pick list to showcase shoes you recommend. Create a shopping list to reveal the shoes you’ll be buying next. Or create any other type of collection to help organize the shoes you add.

How to create a collection:

1. Sign in to ShoeHunting. On the homepage, after you login, you’ll see “My collections” in the left-center of the screen. Click + create new collection.
2. A popup window will show up where you can input collection name, kind of collection and a description. Then click the “add” button to create the collection.
3. You will then be redirected to your homepage.

Where can I leave my comments and feedback on other members’ finds?

You can leave comments for any community members under their finds, on their runway photos, and on their profile you can leave shoutouts (similar to comments on Myspace or Facebook).
You can also rate any find (like/dislike) by clicking either the flaming heart or the broken heart on the picture of the find.

How do I search for shoes using the search box?

Enter the name of the shoe you’re searching for in the search toolbar at the top of the screen. If you search for a designer/brand, a description of the designer will come up, followed by finds that were tagged with that brand name. Below that, there’ll be any blog posts that talked about that brand/designer.

Why and how do I follow users?

The reason you’d want to follow users is so that you can keep up with what shoes they’re adding on ShoeHunting. When you find someone that you want to follow, click the “Follow” button on their profile page. If you later decide you don’t want to follow them anymore, just click the same button, which will say “do not follow” after you’re following someone.

How do I upload a picture to the Runway?

There are 2 ways to upload your pictures to the Runway: Submit it on the ShoeHunting site directly, or email it in.

Option 1: Submit on ShoeHunting’s site

1. Go to the Runway page, and look on the right side of the screen. You’ll see “Show off those shoes!” with a text box underneath it. That’s where you enter your comment that you’d like to accompany your picture.
2. Then you can either fill in the picture’s URL or browse your computer and upload the picture.
3. Tag your Runway update with keywords such as boots, fringe, black pumps, etc. and click “Submit”. It’s that simple!

Option 2: Submit a picture via email

1. Compose an email addressed to whatever email address shows up in the text bar here (located in same area as noted above)
2. Be sure to attach the photo, and write any text in the body of the email that you’d like to be included as a caption. 140 character limit. Send the email and it should appear soon on ShoeHunting’s Runway!

How can I edit my profile?

From the ShoeHunting homepage, click on “edit profile” located in the top-right portion of the screen. There you can change your profile avatar (picture), information, contact information, what notifications you receive and how, your password, and your email pin and Twitter account information.

How do I cancel my account?

To delete your account and username, go to “edit profile”, and click on the “Info” tab. On the right side of the screen you’ll see in red font “Permanently Delete [username]” – click on it. This cannot be undone.

How can I invite friends to join ShoeHunting?

At the top of the screen, in the grey toolbar, find the Invite Friends link. You can customize the message you send to your friends, and enter their email addresses. Then click the “Send Message” button.

How do I contact ShoeHunting?

At the very top of the screen you’ll see Contact Us in the grey toolbar. Click there, and fill out the form. We will get back to you as soon as possible.

How can I leave feedback about the site?

Your feedback is important to us, so that we can improve ShoeHunting and make it a fun and helpful place to be. On each page, there’s a black tab labeled Feedback on the left side of the screen. You can click that and a pop up screen will appear where you can leave your feedback. There’s another Feedback link to this same pop up screen in the grey toolbar across the top of the screen. Or you can always email us at info @ shoehunting.com. Thank you for your feedback!

How can I find coupon codes?

ShoeHunting now offers coupon codes to users for some of the most popular online shoe stores. Click here to access the shoes coupon codes page. There is also a link at the bottom of the page in the grey toolbar. If you are not already a registered member of ShoeHunting, you will need to become a user to gain access to these coupon codes.

How Do I Post On The Forum?

You can post your comments and questions in the Shoe Hunting Forum. We encourage you to post an introduction when you join in the forum! It’s fun to get to know fellow shoe lovers.
In the forum, you can leave your feedback on the site, an introduction, online deals, shopping sprees, shoe store reviews, and questions you have about shoes.

• Click on the Forum button at the top of the screen.
• If you’re looking for an existing topic, you can search for it using the forum search bar.
• To start your own thread, click on the “Post a New Topic” button.
• To comment on existing topics, click on the topic of choice, and leave your comment in the text box at the bottom of the entry.

How Can I Browse Shoes By Store?

You can see what shoes have been bookmarked from which stores by clicking on the “Hot Stores” purple tab at the top of each page. You will see the names of the stores, followed by images of shoes found on those stores that you can then click to see more detail.

How Can I Browse Shoes By Tags?

You can browse shoes by keywords, or tags, by clicking the “Tags” purple tab at the top of each page. For example, if you’re looking for a particular brand, style or color, you can click on that keyword in the tag cloud and you’ll be directed to all of the finds that were tagged with that keyword.
