MM Must-Haves 10-26-08
hi everyone — I'm Meghan Cleary, aka Miss Meghan, and I am America's Shoe Expert.
I am so excited to be a part of the Shoehunting.com community and share my shoe knowledge with you.
As you might know, I have been obsessed with shoes since I was five years old when I became impassioned about a pair of baby blue wedge espadrilles with flower embroidery. Fast forward about 20 years and I was a Wall Street marketing consultant spending my salary on sparkly red Dries van Noten slingbacks to use as a table centerpiece.
What is a girl to do when her passion for shoes is that intense? Well, I threw myself into learning as much as I could about shoes — I took shoemaking classes, interviewed shoe designers, wrote articles about shoes for mags like Marie Claire and the New York Daily News, I talked on the TODAY and Tyra and Extra! about shoes and wrote a book called "The Perfect Fit: What your shoes say about you".
You see, I believe that shoes, more than anything a woman puts on her body, reveals her state of mind in that moment. As women we are creatures of many moods (newsflash!). We might be Mary Jane girl on Tuesday morning and a Stiletto girl friday night.
We also use shoes to change our moods. That's why shoes are therapy for every woman. Doesn't matter if you are a clog girl or a trainer girl, stiletto girl or a peep-toe. When you find that pair of shoes you love - it's instant uplift. I have seen Shoe Therapy TM in action a million times - it is truly transformative. Why? Because shoes affect us on a physiological level — they impact the way we walk, carry ourselves and the way we stand.
So every week, I am going to share with you my picks — I call them Miss Meghan's Must-Haves ©. There are five categories of shoe that will cover you in any situation and all of you moods. Use these five categories to build your shoe wardrobe and you cannot go wrong.

2. Terrific Trainers (sneakers)
3. Knee High Kicks (flat or heel)
