This past spring and summer, actress Gwyneth Paltrow gained a reputation for wearing killer high heels - many of which reached as high as seven inches, like these by Guiseppe Zanotti.

Heels have been getting higher and higher over the past year, with super high heels from Chanel that caused models to tumble down the runway, and the “Victoria” platform from Giambattista Valli - named for, of course, Victoria Beckham. Not surprising for a woman who teeters around on shoes like these.

Why does today’s gladiator trend demand that everyone’s legs look like they’re in bondage?

Here’s MK Olsen leaving her boyfriend’s house wearing a pair of gladiators by Chanel. I don’t think I’d wear a pair of these, but I will say that MK does pull them off. They go hand in hand with her unique style. I still have visions of whips and chains and dominatrices in my head when I look at them. Perhaps it’s just visions of my true life calling.

Fashionista? Or troll on safari?

I had to check three times before it finally sunk in that this is, in fact, MK Olsen, and not Ashley. Despite my deep running fear of these twin trolls, I’m usually quite good at telling them apart. However, the straightened hair and Chanel suit threw me for a loop.

Ashlee Simpson, minus her siamese hair twin, Pete Wentz

It’s amazing how different Ashlee Simpson looks. I never thought she was unattractive before the nose job, in fact, I thought her old nose gave her face some character. Now she just looks like a Disney character. Cute, yes; but increasingly annoying, until you just wish Cruella DeVille would come along and turn her into a coat. And then Jessica Simpson can wear that coat to celebrate her return to being the “good looking Simpson sister”.
