WWD reports that the latest celebrity to ink a footwear deal is Ivanka Trump. The model-turned-businesswoman has signed with Marc Fisher Footwear, which also owns brands like Sigerson Morrison and produces shoes under the GUESS? label, to create a contemporary footwear line. Marc Fisher President Susan Itzkowitz states it is a good move because the company “saw Ivanka’s iconic style as an opportunity to fill a niche in the footwear business.” I’m assuming the new line will provide women with sexy pumps and boots that transition nicely from the office to an happy hour and beyond. I’m hoping Ivanka includes some super high heels, so we can experience what it’s like to be nearly 6 feet tall, too!
“I knew immediately that we would be able to successfully collaborate together and that he could execute our vision in accordance with my design aesthetic,” Ivanka says. “I am confident that our partnership will produce the type of quality and high style product that will appeal to many.”
My only question is, will I have to be a millionaire to afford Ivanka’s “quality and high style” shoes?
