Lady Gaga in old Hollywood inspired Galliano platforms

by Stiletto Pumped on November 4, 2009

I first thought this must be Lady Gaga in her Halloween costume, but soon found out that this is actually what she wore to the ACE Awards on Monday night. I then realized that out of all the photos of celebrities dressed up for Halloween, I never once came across one of Lady Gaga. I mean, if you’re Lady Gaga, and this is what you wear to a normal event, what would you wear for Halloween? Sweatpants and a ball cap?

It all made perfect sense to me once I thought about my Halloween costume this year. Do you know what I dressed up as? Lady Gaga! Where else can you go when you’re already a walking Halloween costume?

All that aside, her rigormortis claw hands and oddly powdered outfit makes me think of a zombified Gaga. Or maybe she just slept in a pile of blow the night before. That might explain where she gets the balls to wear these things.

Lady Gaga wore a pair of platforms from John Galliano’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection, a collection inspired by old Hollywood glamor – which is appropriate for a woman who’s entire life in the spotlight is claimed to be performance art. The shoes feature lace, silk, pearl and feather details that certainly evoke images of old glamor, contrasted against modern fashions biggest shoe trend: ridiculously high heels. If you look closely at the heel, you’ll see it’s actually a string of pearls. Gaga herself often looks like a crack-addled Galliano runway reject, so her shoe choice is quite appropriate. What do you think of Gaga’s Galliano shoes?
