Confessions of a leggings hater and Lindsay Lohan’s Fendi double-platform bow pumps

by Stiletto Pumped on June 12, 2009

I have a confession to make.

Today, I bought a pair of leggings.

I resisted the leggings trend so hard… But these days, it seems that every time I see a dress that’s cute enough to persuade me to try it on, it comes to this length somewhere between short, short dress and long shirt. What’s a girl to do? I don’t want to flash my ass to the world, and I don’t want to be one of those girls wearing dresses over pants (really ladies, two outfits at once = twice the laundry!). I had to buy leggings; eventually, it just became common sense. I know, I know; “leggings” and “common sense” in the same sentence! It’s madness! And do you know who I blame for this? Lindsay Lohan:

Ugh, she just looks so smug. You win this one, Lohan! *shakes fist*

The leggings I purchased are not from Lohan’s leggings line (I refuse to buy leggings from a line that makes something called “ankle gloves”), they’re liquid leggings – which I have learned, make one’s ass look fantastic! I have also learned that leggings are quite versatile and look chic when paired with the right shoes. I always had a fear that I would look like Peggy Bundy if I wore leggings with heels, but as Lohan exemplifies with her Fendi double-platform bow pumps in the above photo, they actually make one’s legs look quite lithe when paired with high heel shoes. A pair of shoes like Lohan’s Fendis – say, the Martinez Valero “Dalton” – would look quite cute. I have a pair of oxford style sandals – very similar to Hollywould “Luisa” – that look fantastic with these leggings!

So, shoe lovers, now that I have gone to the dark side, I implore you – both out of curiosity and for advice – what shoes do you love pairing with leggings?

I finally succumbed and now own one pair of legging. I usually wear it with flip flop (my fave combo), my Bear Claw (fake Uggs)or below the knee boots. I need a little help now since it summer I stuck on how to dress it up and not look like a Bundy.

I had trouble buying leggings too but with all the great tunics you have to wear leggings or like you said show everyone you behind! I love wearing shorter leggings in the summer with some strapy sandals. Love the ease of the long top with fun sandals!
