I now have more information on Nike’s latest running innovation!
Pictured above is the new Nike LunarGlide+. Runners, rejoice! The Nike LunarGlide+ is a lightweight running shoe designed with an innovative mid-sole architecture called Dynamic Support, a patent-pending system that adapts to a runner’s gait with each step. The new Dynamic Support system no longer makes runners choose between stability and cushioning. Soft yet strong microfiber synthetic overlays offer seam-free comfort. What makes the LunarLite System unique is the fact that traditional cushioning systems only absorb energy upon impact. LunarLite foam provides superior cushioning and significant energy return.
The Women’s Nike LunarGlide+ provides more cushioning in the heel than the men’s model. The shoe has a two-part, gender-specific external heel counter engineered to accommodate a woman’s distinct needs for comfort, fit and support. Nike has also applied its Dynamic Fit Technology, a stretchy material, adjacent to the big toe. This material expands to accommodate varying widths, as women tend to have broader forefeet, a condition that can lead to fit issues and abrasions.
The Nike LunarGlide+ will be available all over the world July 1, 2009 and will retail for $100.
