Convertible shoes from Roger Vivier’s “One is Too” collection

Bruno Frisoni – creative direction for Roger Viver Haute Couture – called Vivier’s 2009 collection “One is Too” – which, essentially, is a high fashion way of saying “Two for One” without sounding like an advertisement for Payless. Frisoni’s collection features a variety of shoes that can be converted from a stiletto to a wedge instantly:

The heel can be buckled into a platform for a completely different shoe! Stilettos and wedge heels are very trendy right now, and these are the only shoes I’ve seen that can provide both styles in one. You would almost think this two for one thing is a response to today’s struggling economy – until you learn that the starting price is $13,500. I suppose they’re charging you for two pairs of shoes, right? What do you think of Bruno Frisoni’s shoe convertibles?

It is kind of nice to buy one pair of shoes that is actually two pairs. Save some money that way. I am not sure if the bold flowers are my style. They would be hard to wear. Great concept!

This is utterly fantastic, and such a great way to pay homage to shoes past. This same idea was used hundreds of years ago to sort of protect fancy shoes from puddles. No joke!
