Oscars 2008: Diablo Cody snubs million dollar shoes for flats like Faryl Robin “Tallulah”
In case you weren’t aware, last night was a little something called the Academy Awards. I’m not a huge fan of the Oscars - I prefer to read next day blog reports, as oppose to actually sitting through the eighteen hour telecast snoozefest. The Oscars are a dull time for shoes. It’s all about the dresses. “Who’s dress are you wearing?!” said in my best Joan Rivers impression. It’s all about beautiful and elaborate evening gowns - evening gowns that cover up what our lovely ladies of the Oscars are wearing on their feet. However, I have stumbled upon some shoe news to report…

Diablo Cody, Juno screenwriter, took home the award for best Original Screenplay. There were rumblings that Cody was to wear a pair of million dollar diamond shoes by Stuart Weiztman. She ended up declining to wear them, and had this to say about it on her blog:
“I’m actually really pissed about this, now that I think about it. They’re using me to publicize their stupid shoes and nobody asked me. I would never consent to a lame publicity stunt at a time when I already want to hide. I’m sorry if I sound like a party-pooper, but Jeebus [sic].”
Now, I haven’t seen Juno yet, but I’ve decided that I like Diablo Cody. She’s feisty, does an excellent job rocking the Cleopatra hair cut, and is an inspiration to young writers everywhere. I liked that she said what she believed, and used the word “Jebus” to do so. And y’know what? I liked her gold flats, that look like these by Faryl Robin:

This is the Faryl Robin “Tallulah”, a simple gold flat that will add sparkle to your step whether your dressing up or down. Made of cracked metallic leather, the “Tallulah” also comes in a silver, and a shimmery purple.
To end with, I will leave you shoe lovers with a photo of the Weitzman shoes Diablo snubbed for her gold flats…
