Beat the February Blahs with the Naughty Monkey “Grass” pump
How to beat the February Blahs: Put some spring time colours in your step!
This is the Naughty Monkey “Grass” pump, a shoe that comes in a variety of colours, but this psychedelic model is certainly my favourite. The colours leapt out at me, and chased away my February Blahs.
There’s also a modest looking leopard print model, a lacquered cork model and floral print fabric model, but this one is the one that I think gave the “Grass” pump it’s namesake: Those cheeky monkies at Naughty Monkey might have indulged in a little “grass” when they were creating this pattern.
Okay, so I don’t actually know why it’s called the “Grass” pump, but this model’s bold colours and striking patterns are certainly reminiscent of sixties psychedelic designs. Naughty Monkey does Emillio Pucci, if you will.
These colours are very bold and will stand out, so they need to be paired with something simple, so as to not overwhelm your look. They would go nicely with a pair of pencil jeans, or perhaps with dress of a solid colour that matches one of the colours from the shoes: say a red, turquoise, green or cream coloured dress. Just don’t put all those colours together at once. We’re trying to avoid the circus clown look.
