Sex in the City featured a wardrobe worthy of runway models, and exposed TV audiences to the beauty and artistry of fashion, as modelled by the iconic Carrie Bradshaw and her gang. It also showed us some of the uglier, more excessive pieces of fashion that most of us wouldn’t wear if our lives depended on it. I consider this strange, gypsy-meets-circus clown blouse that Kim’s wearing to be an example of this. However, there is something about Kim Catrall – maybe it’s her character’s “try-sexuality” – that pulls this outfit off.
Actually, forget that.
After looking at that hideous outfit again, I’ve decided it’s definitely the white, peep-toe platform pumps that Kim’s sporting that make it all work. Her skin tone is just deep enough that the white doesn’t make her look washed out. In fact, it makes her legs look longer. To get Kim Catrall and Samantha Jones’ look, try the Luichiny “Sidra”:
