I’d like to welcome you all to my nightmare:

This shoe is by Pierre Hardy. It rings in around six hundred bucks and looks like a Prada shoe was attacked by an army of suede, claymation smurfs. This shoe seems to borrow it’s shape from the classic, Prada platform pump, and bastardizes it with some strange, coiling caterpillar. The detail makes this shoe look heavy, like some clodhopper in my blue suede nightmares.

Why would you do this to a Prada shoe, Pierre Hardy? Why? A little part of me dies when I look at that thing.

The Prada pump is a sexy shoe that, like Christian Louboutin’s, aren’t particularly dainty. They’re big and tall, and yet somehow incredibly feminine. Any woman wearing these will feel 5″ taller, and infinitely fiercer. This is a shoe with which you can pound the pavement, while looking ladylike at the same time.

If you’re looking for that distinctive Prada look, steer clear of this pricey, Pierre Hardy model and check out RSVP’s Prada-esque pump:

The RSVP Julia pulls off that fierce, Prada look in leather and patent leather, and comes in a variety of colours. It features a slightly more stilleto-styled heel (which I always love!), for a sexier look. What’s even better, is that you don’t have to spend big Prada bucks to get this look.

Big, platform pumps are hot shoes, but they need to be kept simple, so as to not give you oversized, Clydesdale feet. I’d like to thank Pierre Hardy for giving us a model suitable for the Jolly Green Giant’s wife, but I’ll take the RSVP Julia for it’s fantastic job at this simple, sexy look - without breaking the bank.
