Snakes on a boot!
Earlier today, we heard about hot, snake skin fashions for bargain prices. Although I love the snake skin look, I had to question it later on in the day, when I stumbled upon these:

Upon viewing them, I could faintly hear Samuel L. Jackson’s voice in the distance, crying out:
“I have HAD it with these motha****ing snakes on this motha****ing boot!”
This is a real python skin boot from Le Silla. As such, you’ll end up paying upwards of $500 for a patchwork tapestry of reptilian fug on your feet.
This boot overdoes the snake skin thing so much, I’m tempted to go get a shot of antivenin. Snake skin is something that should be used modestly - like on handbags or Hauteheel’s Isaac Mizrahi pumps - not blocked and colored up so much that it overwhelms your entire outfit - and my senses.
For some stylish snakes on a boot, check out the Aerosoles Sliver boot:

The simple, grey snake skin is a much simpler look that will compliment a cute skirt of some skinny jeans for a sexy - not wild - look. It also comes in red and is made of a stretch material for extra snugness.
For some more sassy snakes on a shoe, please read today’s Isaac Mizrahi post, or check out these foxy pumps from Naughty Monkey:

This is the Empress, a shoe that is currently on my wish list. It features pony hair, wingtip-style detailing, stacked heels and comes in wine and brown.
Both the Sliver and the Empress are faux-snake skin - so you’ll be able to get both of these looks for under one hundred bucks.
Remember that animal prints are loud and one needs to be careful when sporting them. They’re best used tastefully in small doses. These untamed looks should only be used excessively in three scenarios:
1. Dressing up for Halloween.
2. Releasing your inner cougar.
3. Dressing up for Halloween as a cougar.
Save those Le Silla tragedies for these occasions, mmkay?

Fabulous post, Rachel. Those first boots are a little scary. Actually, they are very scary. For $500 a patch, I would rather get plastic surgery than those boots which will not last long.
[...] SIlla completely overuses colour on this model (as oppose to overusing pythons), and mixes it with an unholy amount of shiny, glimmery fug. I think my retinas are beginning to [...]
