Lauren Conrad and the fashion world’s apparent fringe-binge
There’s a fringe trend upon us. Behold:

Here’s LC out and about in a pair of blue, fringed-ankle sandals. I’m not opposed to the fringe trend; many designers have gotten it right, like the Betsey Johnson “Hipster” or many of the moccasin inspired boots from Minnetonka. However, LC’s sandals aren’t doing it for me. The Fug Girls have already expressed disdain at LC’s footwear choice, and made the valid point that walking around with these things on your ankles would be a bit irritating. I personally don’t think they’re flattering at all and I wouldn’t wear a shoe that looks like it needs to be combed.
I could also see these shoes as being the cause of having to say to someone “Sorry, I tripped on my shoe fringe” after you trip over the fringe and fall into someone’s lap. That could be good or bad, depending on the lap, however, I feel like if I were lucky enough to fall into Christian Bale’s lap, he’d probably just reject me because of my ugly sandals.
What do you think of LC’s sandals and the fringe trend?

This post had me cracking up at the image of falling into Christian Bale’s lap…swoon…I’d hope he’d be so taken with my sparkling personality that he wouldn’t even notice my fringed feet!
I would take him by force if I had to, fringes or not.
