As I said earlier, the Oscars are a dull time for shoes. However, I have managed to spot some sexy heels, even if they were on someone who could arguably be the worst dressed attendee:

This is Rebecca Miller, wife of Daniel Day-Lewis. I don’t quite know what to say about the dress. She looks like the lone survivor of some horrid, craft sale table explosion. I’m not a very conventional person, and if I were to attend the Oscars, I might wear something just as unconventional as myself just to piss the glitterati off, but I think I’d pick something a little more stylish than that thing. I can respect off-beat, but… What the hell is that giant thing on her chest? Is it an oversized broach? Is it some kind of communicator to contact her home planet? I…. I… I don’t know what to say. Looking at that outfit frstrates me. I need a drink.

I did happen to notice that Rebecca paired her hideous dress with a pair of hot, Betsey Johnson heels:

This is the Betsey Johnson “Chelsea”, a very new wave inspired pump that’s wasted on Rebecca Miller’s adventure in experimental gowns. This pump makes me think of Debbie Harry and Parallel Lines, not grandma’s craft night. I guess I see how Rebecca’s dress is very freewheeling and crazy, much like the cartwheeling Betsey Johnson herself. However, I think Rebecca may have been better off in Björk’s infamous swan dress than that monstrosity. These shoes deserve to be shown off, so please do so with a chic, black dress or pencil jeans. Even the swan dress, for Christ’s sake, just not that thing on Rebecca Miller.
