I don’t know why I like posting about Lindsay Lohan so much. I think I saw Mean Girls once, and I break out into hives when I’m forced to listen to her music, but for some reason, I just seem to find her interesting.

I guess I’m just a victim of the Lohan publicity machine. I’m not a fan of anything she does really, but when I see her photo in the tabs, I automatically think “I must find out who she’s screwing now!” This is my confession, and I’m not proud of it.

I guess it’s really just a matter of Lindsay being infamous rather than famous. No one seems to care what movies she’s in, they just want to see her cat fight with Paris Hilton (my money’s on Lohan - I bet she fights dirty). I think most of us will agree that the “Young Hollywood” scene is mostly a joke, but it also stands as a grave warning of what fame, power and money can do to a young person. I don’t read about Lohan because I envy what she has, but because I’m grateful that I didn’t have those things when I was eighteen years old. Otherwise, I’d probably have a criminal record and some serious meth face.

These girls create their fame based on some kind of “perfect” lifestyle - the “pop star”, the “heiress”, the “party girl” - and influence thousands of young girls with that image. I think that if you’re going to present that lifestyle, than you should also show the very real consequences of such a lifestyle. You know, the “whore”, the “drug addict” and the “felon”. This is what these skeezy tabloids do, and maybe it’s not such a bad thing.

Okay, so maybe I was lying when I said that I don’t envy what she has, because I do envy her shoes quite a bit. For a girl who’s fashion regiment seems to be rolling out of bed and into a pair of leggings, the girl mostly has good taste in shoes (mostly). In the above photo, Linds is wearing a sky-high pair of Report “Trudi”’s:

The nude colour of these shoes will make anyone’s legs look super long, particularly when paired with a dress as short as Lindsay’s (Lindsay has a history of mistaking shirts for dresses). I love the shape of the Report “Trudi”, and the modest black toe cap. The only problem I have with Linds and this shoe is that the “Trudi’s” nude colour draws attention to the fact that Lindsay’s legs appear to be multi-coloured - as a result of some spray tan stains, methinks. We can’t all be “perfect”, huh?
