Here’s Madonna at the Berlin Film Festival, where she debuted Filth and Wisdom, a short film she directed. You wanna know what? The movie apparently isn’t horrible. I’m glad Madonna has finally figured out that she’s more use to us behind the camera than in front of it. The only time I want to see Madonna in front of the camera is if she’s singing and dancing on a gondola, kissing black saints, or wearing cone bras. She’s a smart lady, blessed with a keen business sense, but God knows that I can’t sit through another movie like Swept Away or Body of Evidence or The Next Best Thing, because the next best thing would be someone WHO CAN ACT.

Don’t get me wrong; I love Madonna. She is my fellow lioness. I can only dream that one day I can have the brass cajones that she has. However, Madonna’s forte is music, image and business - not acting. Her acting ambitions can be blamed for Britney’s, and we all know how that turned out. However, the material girl does not act in Filth and Wisdom. Instead, she stays behind the scenes, for superior results. If only Guy Ritchie had figured this out earlier.

In the above photo, Madonna’s dress has a very school marm-ish design. However, in true Madonna style, it also appears to be see-through. That’s my girl.
