NYC Fashion Week 2008: Fergie and the DKNY “Shelley”
When did little Stacey Ferguson turn eighty?

Here’s Fergie on her way to a Marc Jacobs show at NYC Fashion Week. I don’t quite know what kind of statement she’s trying to make with her outfit, but the blue mumu thing isn’t working for me. It’s not very flattering on her at all. It doesn’t show off Ferg’s fit body - I cannot see her humps, her humps, her lovely lady lumps. Neither in the back nor in the front. She’s looking quite the mess in this photo - her outfit says “I love Matlock” while her face says “Pass the bong.”
Maybe that’s just the mystery that is the Fergilicious one. The saddest part of this outfit are her trendy, snake print mary janes. Not because they’re ugly; because they’re fabulous and being wasted on such a travesty of an outfit.
So, what I ask of you, faithful shoe lovers, is to imagine that Fergie’s wearing a chic little black dress with a hot pair of snake print mary janes like these by DKNY:

This is the DKNY Shelley, a shoe that is making it’s second appearance on this blog. First, the DKNY Shelley studded model danced like Madonna, now it’s snake print cousin is going to shake it’s humps like Fergie. The “Shelley” has a very modest, round toe mary jane style, which is contrasted by wild, snake prints or rock star worthy studs. No wonder this look is showing up on divas everywhere - in fact we saw a similar animal print mary jane on Christina Aguilera yesterday. What do you think of this trend?
